The Stamford Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual banquet at the VIP Center on Thursday, March 24th. The theme for the event was “Stamford: A Community of Many Hats.” The event brought together many leaders in the community with current Chamber President Sherrie Raughton giving the welcome. Jesse Morton, Temple Baptist Church Pastor, then gave the invocation, and a meal catered by Jay and Joan Hager was served. The group "Chosen" with Billy Ford, Danny Edmond, Vernon Session, Gene Ward, Ernest Flanders, and Paul Wright performed for the banquet. Awards were presented to Outstanding Senior Boy and Senior Girl: Noah Horn and Raquel Pachicano, accepting for Raquel was her mother Modesta Ramos; Small Business of the Year: Stamford Donut; Large Business of the Year: Jerry’s Waterline; Man of the Year Award: Bryan Patterson; Woman of the Year Award: Sandra Rhea. Also honored was outgoing Chamber President Bobby Suitor and outgoing board members: Melinda Smith, Jan Lefevre, and Susan Hodges. Serving as the speaker for the event was Tannon Nauert, Pastor of Envision Church. Nauert spoke about becoming a community of Love. Pastor Bill Wood, Central Baptist Church Pastor, closed the banquet with a prayer.
