Richard Lamb to take pharmacist position at Anson Walmart

Richard Lamb, new Walmart pharmacist, is new to the Walmart company but not to the pharmaceutical business. Lamb has 35 years of experience and welcomes helping the community however he can. He has been married for 35 years and has two daughters. Lamb worked in the DFW area for the last 17 years for Medco, a mail order pharmaceutical company that was bought out by Express Scripts. The opportunity arose to come to West Texas and he was excited to take on the challenge. Coming originally from a small town in Minnesota, Lamb was happy to get back to that small town feel.

Getting to know the community and their needs has been a priority for Lamb. He has visited with various organizations and numerous citizens to become more acquainted with Anson. To introduce himself to the community and educate citizens, Lamb and Walmart will be holding a Health Fair/Brown Bag Event on October 29, 2014 from 5 to 9 at the Lawrence Hall Activity Building. The Health Fair/Brown Bag Event will have various health providers present that will share information on health concerns, diseases and illnesses that affect those in the community, immunization information among other health and safety topics. Citizens are invited to bag up their prescriptions and bring them to make sure they are being used properly and that there are no drug interactions. Once the pharmacy at Walmart opens, Lamb plans to focus on good customer service, variety of medications available to all income levels and a clean atmosphere. Being a helping hand to those needing help with prescription needs and concerns is Lamb’s goal. He hopes to work with the community as a whole to help them save money, share information and work towards better health.
