Chamber Focuses on Threads that Bind

Threads that Bind was the theme for the Annual Stamford Chamber of Commerce Banquet that took place on March 25th at 6:30 PM. The chamber introduced the theme with an explanation that the chamber wanted to “honor the threads that bind our community together. Threads of business, church, and school are interwoven to form a cloak of community spirit and pride.” Local musicians, Rick Campbell, Bill Wood, Bry Birdsong and Shelby Copeland, Paul Wright, St. John Methodist Church Praise and Worship team, and the Earthman Family Fiddlers, were showcased and intermingled with the awards and numerous door prizes. Honored with awards this year were: Non-Profit of the Year – Bread of Life Ministries, the Stamford Food Bank; Volunteer of the Year – Rhea Lyons; Small Business of the Year – Antique Outpost; Large Business of the Year – Big Country Electric Cooperative; Outstanding Senior Boy – Brandon Robertson; Outstanding Senior Girl – Marissa Moroz; Man of the Year – Don Haynes; Woman of the Year – Vicky Solis.
