The new principal of Stamford High School for the upcoming year is Mr. Kasey Stone. He is married to Shelly Stone and they have two sons; Payton, who is 7 years old and will be in the second grade, and Landen, who is 5 years old and will be attending the House for Tots in Stamford.
Mr. Stone was born and raised in DeLeon, Texas and after graduating from high school, he attended Ranger College for two years for baseball before transferring to Tarleton State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports and a minor in Mathematics. He later attended Sam Houston State University and graduated from there with a Masters in Educational Leadership in 2009.
Mr. Stone was a teacher and coach for 7 years. He taught mathematics and coached football and baseball. He was a math teacher and a UIL Umpire for 6 years and also spent 4 years in different parts of the administration. Mr. Stone is not new to the principal position either. He has taught and been an assistant principal for Dublin, been the secondary principal for Winters, and was also principal in Georgetown.
Stone is excited for this school year to start because he says that so far, he and his family have had a very good experience with the community. “This community invests so much in the kids no matter what,” says Stone when asked about Stamford. He believes this school year will be great because he has met several teachers and says all the teachers are student oriented and only want what is best for their students. With only a few things to work on, Mr. Stone is ready for this school year to begin so he can meet all of his students and teachers.
